Pompeii

One of the Roman Campanian towns buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in the AD 79 and painstakingly brought back to light during the last two centuries, has provided fundamental knowledge of the domestic life of the ancients. “Nothing is wanting here but the inhabitants. Still, a morning’s walk through the solemn silent streets of Pompeii, will give you a livelier idea of their modes of life than all the books in the world. Here you see the greater part of a Roman town as it was when disaster overtook in almost 2000 years ago, in a setting sufficiently isolated from modern surroundings to preserve the illusion of antiquity" Henry Matthews in the 1820.

Positano

Most’s memorable sight is its unforgettable townscape, a vertiginous stack of pastel, colored houses cascading down to Spiaggia Grande. Although it’s no-one’s dream beach, with grey-ash sand covered by legions of bright umbrellas, the water’s clean and the setting is memorable. Walking through the narrow roads a lots of shops, colored clothes hanging outside, le “Pezze” di Positano (Positano fashion) providing a multifaceted backdrop

Amalfi

Its name is derived from the nymph, Amalfi, loved by Hercules, nestles in the Valle dei Mulini, the ravine of the Canneto stream. Its churches and arcaded houses, grouped together with attractive irregularity, rise above a small harbour, and backed by precipices of wild magnificence, studded with cylindrical forts overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. You will have 1 hour or more looking around, do a little shopping or just sitting at the bar in the square, drinking coffee and watching the people!
